Recycling 101
An easy way to help the environment is to recycle. Most trash haulers will provide a recycling bin for a fee. But, if your service will not, or if you don’t want to pay, there is also a recycling center in front of the Martin’s Supermarket at Cobblestone Square on East Bristol Street.
Here are some helpful hints:
NEVER TAKE
- Your recyclables in bags
- Plastic (grocery store type) bags
- Clothing
- Masks, diapers, needles, food, or any other organic products.
- Cords, tarps covers, liners
ALWAYS ACCEPTED
- Cardboard
- Milk jugs
- Paper
- Cans and tin
- Glass
- Detergent Bottles
- Plastic Bottles
After checking this list if you are still in doubt, IF IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT!
CONFUSING: When you check the bottom of a container and see a recycling arrow you assume that it is recyclable. IT DOES NOT. ONLY #1, #2 AND #5 PLASTICS ARE RECYCLEABLE.
